What’s the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly City in Florida

Today, we’re sharing the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Florida. What’s the runner-up for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Florida? Wilton Manors. Why? Wilton Manors scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaigns Municipal Equality Index. The home values average $590,000 per property, the third highest for Florida. Rent averages $2,130 a month for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, which is slightly below the state average. The cost of living is 110.5%, which is the middle for Georgia. The average income is $89,000 yearly, which is the third best in the state. Meanwhile, the median income is $71,000 a year, which is also the third best in the state annually. 

What’s the winner for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Florida? Tampa & St Petersburg. Why? Tampa scores a 100 on the HRC MEI. The home values average $391,000 per property, the middle for the state. Rent averages $2,245 a month, which is the middle for the state. The cost of living is 104.2%, which is just below average for Florida. The average income is $82,000 a year, which is slightly above average in the state of Florida. Meanwhile, the median income is $57,000 a year, also slightly above average in the state. 

St Petersburg tied for the winner with Tampa. Why? St Petersburg also scores a 100 on the HRC MEI. The home values average $375,000 per property, just below average for the state. Rent averages $2,053 a month, which is just below average for the state. The cost of living is 102.8%, which is just below average for Florida. The average income is $73,000 a year, which is just above average in the state of Florida. Meanwhile, the median income is $52,000 a year, also above average in the state. 

Some good things about Tampa, Florida are it is the largest metro, which also includes our other #1 city.  YBOR is where the gay scene is at. Tampa Pride is typically in March every year. You can find more info at tampapride.org. The Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival is typically in October every year and you can find more info at tiglff.com. Did you know that Tampa also has Metro Inclusive Health – quality health and wellness services?

Some good things about St Petersburg, Florida are it has been scoring HRC MEI in the 100s since 2014. It is known as Sunshine City because it averages 360 days of sun annually. There are no gayborhoods per se, however, locals call the whole area Gay St Petes. St Petersburg is home to the Salvador Dali Museum, which houses the largest collection of Dali paintings in the world.
