What’s the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly City in Georgia?
Today, we’re sharing the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Georgia. What’s the runner-up for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Georgia? Atlanta – city, not suburbs of Atlanta Why? Atlanta scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaigns Municipal Equality Index, which is the highest. The home values average $377,000 per property, the middle for Georgia. Rent averages $2,000 a month for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, which tied for last in the state. The cost of living is 113.3%, tied for last for Georgia. The average income is $72,000 yearly, which is the highest in Hawaii. Meanwhile, the median income is $70,000 a year, just above average in the state annually.
What’s the winner for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Georgia? Decatur – a suburb of Atlanta. Why? Decatur scores a 98 on HRC’s MEI, the second in Georgia. The home values average $315,000 per property, the middle for the state. Rent averages $1846 a month, which is just below average for the state. The cost of living is 104.8%, which is the middle for Georgia. The average income is $140,000 a year, which is the highest in the state of Georgia. Meanwhile, the median income is $108,000 a year, the highest in the state.
Some good things about Decatur. It is a Suburb of Atlanta and the hometown of the Indigo Girls. Per census info, the zip code which includes much of Decatur, has the highest percentage of same-sex couples in Georgia. Decatur is considered the most politically progressive area of Georgia.
