What’s the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly City in Indiana

Today, we’re sharing the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Indiana. What’s the runner-up for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Indiana? Evansville! Why? Evansville scored a 94 on the Human Rights Campaigns Municipal Equality Index, the second highest for the state, as only one city scored 100. The home values average $181,000 yearly, coming in the middle for Indiana. Rent averages $866 a month for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment and is the second lowest for the state. The cost of living is 80%, which is also in the middle for Indiana. The average income is $42,000 yearly, in the middle, and the median income is $50,000 annually and the third lowest.

What’s the winner for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in Indiana? Bloomington! Why? Bloomington scores a 100 on HRC’s MEI and is the only city in Indiana to score a 100. The home values average $298,000 per property, the second highest for Indiana. Rent averages $1,726 a month and is the highest for the state. The cost of living is 88.8%, which is the highest. The average income is $72,000 a year and is also the highest. While median income is $48,000 a year and is the second highest.  HRC’s 100 rating and average and median incomes make Bloomington our top pick for Indiana.
