What’s the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly City in California

Today, we’re sharing the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in California. What’s the runner-up for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in California? Sacramento, the State capital. Why? Sacramento, California scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaigns Municipal Equality Index. The home values average $466,000 per property, the seventh lowest for California. Rent averages $2,054 a month for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, which is also the seventh lowest for the state average. The cost of living is 127.2%, which is in the bottom quartile of the state. The average income is $71,000 yearly, which is the middle for the state and the median income is $56,000 a year, which is also in the middle for the state annually. 

What’s the winner for the most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly city in California? Palm Springs Why? Palm Springs, California scores 100 on the HRC MEI. The home values average $636,000 per property, which is in the middle for California. Rent averages $2,176 a month, which is the ninth lowest in California. The cost of living is 131.2%, which is still toward the bottom quartile of the state. The average income is $94,000 a year,. This is the top quartile of the state. The median income is $60,000 a year, the middle in California.

Some good things about Palm Springs, California are it is probably the gayest city in the US, even gayer than San Francisco.  Palm Springs is a desert oasis within a 2-hour drive of LA and San Diego. Palm Springs has a huge gay population, making it safe to hold hands everywhere. There are at least, 13 queer bars and dozens of queer and queer-friendly restaurants. The Dinah Shore weekend takes place in Palm Springs, which is the biggest lesbian festival on earth. Pride’s typically in November with over 125K people.
